Civitan House Christmas Party
The Civitan Community Residence on Ridge Road in Greenville is a group home for individuals with special needs or related conditions that provide individualized training, which includes recreation and leisure training, self-care, daily living, and psychosocial development. Each resident is the beneficiary of Christmas gifts provided by Civitan during their annual party. Each resident is indivually shopped for by club members. Gifts are specific to their requested needs or wants.
Clergy Day Appreciation
During the WW II, four clergymen made the ultimate sacrife witnessed by their fellow soldiers. Their sacrifice inspired Civitan International to establish Clergy Appreciation Day in honor of clergy of all faiths. The time of the observance was selected to coincide with the sinking of their ship, the USS Dorchester, on February 3, 1943. This day is observed annually by Civitan Clubs throughout Canada and the United States. (See Photo Gallery )
