Greenville Civitan Projects

Junior Civitan
Junior Civitan is comprised of Middle and High School youths whose purpose is focused on service and volunteerism within the community. The students are afforded personal and career development opportunities. The Wade Hampton Junior Civitan Club has been active for several years. (See Junior Civitan Program)

Middle School Essay Contest
Each year Greenville Civitan sponsors an Essay Contest with a subject title involving "Citizenship". The contest is open to all students enrolled in the Greenville County School System in grades six through eight. Essays are judged on relevance to theme, style, grammar, spelling and clarity of writing. Winners are recognized and cash prizes are awarded for first, second and third places at the Annual Civitan High School Citizenship Awards Banquet.
Miracle League
Because of the disabilities Miracle League players face, the field requires a surface that prevent injuries. The field allows players to roll, run, fall down and even slide into first base without risk of injuring themselves or others. Building the “Field of Dreams” where Every Child Could Play was the first step towards a local Miracle League. Greenville Civitan has supported the Mauldin Miracle League generously with donations and continuing moral support. (See Miracle League Photo Gallery)
