Greenville Civitan Projects

Salvation Army Bell Ringing
Greenville Civitan partners with the Salvation Army and fulfill bell ringing needs from early November through Christmas. The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless. Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic necessities, along with seasonal aid. (See Photo Gallery)

School Tools for United Way
Giving kids the tools they need to succeed in school, and in life. That's the ultimate goal of the United Way's "Schools Tools", a program designed to give students of low-income families a great start to the school year with brown shopping bags filled with school supplies. Greenville Civitan filled 30-plus shopping bags for the event.
Special Olympics
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for eight year olds and older with disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other athletes and the community.
